How to Upgrade Memory for Apple MacBook 13.3 inch (MC207LL/A)
Posted on November 05, 2009 by Jim Fitzsimmons
The Apple MacBook 13.3 inch requires PC-38500 DDR3 Memory. The standard configuration is 2GB of memory installed, with 1GB installed in each of the two memory slots available for upgrade. There is no fixed memory in this Apple MacBook Model. All memory is removable and upgradeable. The maximum memory that this MacBook model will accept is 4GB and I recommend you max out the memory in this machine. This is an affordable upgrade – under $100 from most vendors.
Memory Upgrades for this MacBook 13.3 inch must be completed 2 at at time. Most vendors market the memory upgrades in ‘memory kits’ making it easy for you to upgrade.
Where To Buy Memory for Apple MacBook 13.3 inch
Crucial Technology has a long history of providing memory upgrades for all apple models and is one vendor I can recommend. They price their memory upgrades either individually, or in memory upgrade kits: A single 2GB memory module is currently priced at $47.99 of which you’ll need two to max out this model to 4GB, or you could just order the 4GB memory upgrade kit priced at $95.99.
Edge Tech Corp offers 2GB memory modules compatible with this MacBook model and these are priced at $62.74. They also offer a 4GB memory upgrade kit which consists of 2×2gb PC-8500 DDR3 memory modules and these are priced at $125.48. Curiously, they also offer a 2GB memory upgrade kit. I can’t recommend this choice as it’s the exact same as what the MacBook comes with from the factory. There’s no advantage of ordering a 2GB memory upgrade kit from Edge Tech Corp.
