Apple MacBook Pro

The Apple MacBook Pro 15.4 inch 2.16 GHz with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor requires DDR2 PC-5300 SODIMMS. Maximum Memory that can be installed and recognized in this MacBook Pro model is 3GB. It comes from Apple with 1GB installed and has no fixed ram as standard. There’s 2 banks with one memory upgrade slot in each. Both slots must be filled, but it’s not required to install matched pairs in this particular MacBook Pro model. This model will recognize different sizes, and though not recommended: brands as well. It’s best to stick with the same brand of memory for both memory upgrade slots.

Where To Buy Memory for MacBook Pro 15.4 inch 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Crucial Technology offers 3 different memory upgrade options for this particular MacBook Pro. First, there’s individual modules, and I recommend going with this method for this particular model. Because you can install 3GB of RAM in this MacBook Pro you’ll need a 1GB and 2GB memory module to get to the 3GB Max. The 2GB is installed in one slot, and the 1GB memory module in the other. Prices are reasonable at $17.99 for 1GB and 29.99 for 2GB Modules. If you just want an easy to order upgrade, then go for the 2GB RAM KIT. (2 x 1GB) It’s $35.99, but I suggest ordering the 1 and 2GB modules and maxing out your MacBook Pro. Memory Upgrades are reasonable for this model.

Edge Tech Corp also offers memory upgrade kits and individual modules for this MacBook Pro, and again I recommend going with the 1GB memory upgrade in one memory slot, and a 2GB memory upgrade module in the 2nd memory upgrade slot. 1GB is priced at $22.37, and 2GB is priced at $43.01. If a kit is more your thing, you can grab the $44.74 2GB Memory Upgrade Kit, but I suggest getting the individual modules and maxing out your computer.

4AllMemory only offers a 1GB memory module, so if you order memory from them you’ll only get 2GB of RAM. To max out your memory you’ll need 2gb memory chip and a 1gb memory chip and 4AllMemory only carries the 1GB size which is priced at $19.99.

Memory Suppliers allows you to max out your MacBook Pro Memory as well, offering both 1GB and 2GB memory modules. A 1GB module is priced at $25 and the 2GB module is priced at $29.00. 3GB will cost $54 for this MacBook Pro to maximize your memory and your computer’s performance.

Regardless of which memory vendor you choose, I recommend to max out the memory for this particular model. Memory is so inexpensive it makes no sense not to.
