The Apple MacBook Pro 15.4 inch 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (Late 2007) requires DDR2 PC-5300 200 pin SODIMMS. From the factory, this MacBook Pro model comes standard with 2GB of memory upgrades installed, but is capable of recognizing 4GB of memory in it’s 2 memory slots, with one slot being attributed to each memory bank. From the factory there’s 2X1GB of memory in each slot, so to upgrade this MacBook Pro you will have to replace one or both of the factory installed memory upgrades.
Where to Buy Memory for the Apple MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Crucial Technology offers a 2GB kit and a 4GB memory upgrade kit for this MacBook Pro model. The 2GB doesn’t really apply as the MacBook Pro comes with 2GB already installed, so the 4GB memory upgrade kit is what I recommend at $59.99, this will max out the memory this MacBook Pro will recognize.
Edge Tech Corp offers 2GB memory modules at $43.01 each, or you can get a 4GB memory upgrade kit priced at $86.03. It’s actually cheaper by 1 cent to buy 2×2GB memory modules as opposed to the memory upgrade kit which I find funny. You know what they say: A penny earned.
4AllMemory offers 2GB memory modules at $37.99 (remember you’ll need two if you want to max out your memory) and a 4GB memory upgrade kit at $75.98 each. There’s no savings if you buy the KIT so whether you buy 2 modules, or the kit the pricing works out to be exactly the same.
Memory Suppliers just stocks the 2GB memory upgrade modules, so again: if you want to upgrade to 4GB you’ll have to buy two of these at $29 each.
